Students Showcase Sharp Spelling Skills in Thrilling CCSD Annual Spelling Bee Competition
On February 1, students from across the district gathered for an exciting and intense day of competition at the CCSD Annual Spelling Bee. The event brought together elementary and middle school students from various schools to showcase their spelling skills, quick thinking, and comprehensive knowledge of words.
After many rounds, fifth grader Anjali Kanitkar from Willow Creek Elementary School came in first, spelling the final word, pelagial, a word that means “of or related to an open body of water.” After learning that she won the 2024 CCSD Spelling Bee, she was ecstatic and thankful.
Second-place went to Jeremy Seriu-Aigbokhan, a 4th grader at Mountain Vista Elementary. Third place went to Maanya Bhatnagar, an 8th grader at Fox Ridge Middle School.
